“ We visited Herbies to try their new roast and were absolutely blown away. We started with the truffle and sesame roasted cauliflower and Muhammad’s crispy potatoes—both dishes were incredibly well thought out, beautifully presented, and packed with flavour. For the main event, the roast featured a mushroom Wellington, which was perfectly proportioned—just the right amount of pastry and a generous, flavourful filling. Everything that came with it complemented the dish perfectly. The portions were massive, and by the end, we were completely stuffed! Beyond the food, the service was friendly and professional, and the ambience was cosy and inviting. The best part? They’re pet-friendly, which makes the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be back! ”

“ Absolutely superb - top quality food - delicious and great portions - excellent service - wide selection of dishes to suit all tastes - great value. We tried to eat here a couple of years ago but it was fully booked out, so this time we visited Exeter we booked, and we were glad we did because this place is rightly packed out with happy customers. A handful of dishes are vegetarian, not vegan, but the vegan dishes are clearly marked, and there's lots of choice. Everything was absolutely delicious, but the mushroom sauce with the nut roast deserves a special mention - wow! Can't wait to go back to Exeter just to eat here again! Update - managed to visit again, and the Buddha Bowl is excellent too! ”

“ Took the old dear and my daughter out for Mother’s Day. She’s been taking me to Herbies for 30 years plus, but I hadn’t been for nearly 10 years, so I was hoping it had remained its charm. I was not disappointed. Despite the restaurant being very busy, we were greeted by a calm and friendly Ed who showed us to our table. Food was excellent. The cauliflower truffle and tempura broccoli starters were genuinely some of the best I’ve ever had. Waitress Cassie checked in with us mid meal to ensure we were all being well looked after. She was a pleasure to chat with. Will definitely put Herbies back on my regular visit list. It seems I may have been missing out! Many thanks for a great lunch ”
